During March the volunteer committee returned to East Park at Interlocken to clean up trash as our adopted area for the City of Broomfield. It was a beautiful spring day and we collected a lot of trash and left the park ready for lots of spring and summer guests.
Women’s Bean Project
To kick off the new year and get a jump start our collecting dollars for our charity of the year, Women’s Bean Project, the volunteer committee held a 50/50 Raffle. Raffle tickets were sold for $2.00 each for a chance to win half of the money collected. The sales totaled $216.00, so the lucky winner went home with $113.00 for purchasing a $2.00 ticket. Not a bad return on your money!! The Women’s Bean Project is an organization that helps prepare women to enter back into society by teaching the skills and helping them find good paying jobs. The organization is based in Denver, Colorado and had a 100% placement rate in 2012. MS Walk/MS150 Bike Tour
MSI Volunteers helped serve lunch at the MS Walk on Saturday, May 6th, and took the very early morning shift to help register racers for the MS150 Bike Tour on July 8th. The Walk and the Bike Tour are annual MS events to help raise funds to find a cure, and build awareness of this devastating disease.
